Haryana State Judicial Services
- Phase 1 – Haryana Judicial Services Prelims examination is of objective type.
- Phase 2 – Haryana Judicial Services Mains examination is of written type.
- Phase 3 – Haryana Judicial Services Interview
Negative marking of 1.5 will be deducted in the prelims examination.
PHASE 1 – PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
You will first have to take the preliminary exam, which consists of 125 objective questions with a maximum score of four points per question. The test will include objective-style questions from each of the mains syllabus's acts listed below.
PHASE 2 – MAINS EXAMINATION
The exam is consists of five papers:
PAPER I – CIVIL LAW I (200 Marks)
You will be asked a question based on the following:
- Code of Civil Procedure
- Indian Contract Act
- Indian Partnership Act
- Sales of Goods Act
- Specific Relief Act
- Indian Evidence Act
- Punjab Courts Act
- Haryana Urban (Control of Rent & Eviction) Act, 1973.
PAPER-II – CIVIL LAW II (200 MARKS)
You will be asked a question based on the following:
- Hindu Law
- Mohammedan Law (Study the customary law of Haryana and Punjab also)
- Law of Registration
- Limitation Act
PAPER III – CRIMINAL LAW (200 Marks)
You will be asked a question based on the following:
- Indian Penal Code
- Criminal Procedure Code
- Indian Evidence Act
PAPER IV: ENGLISH
- Essay (100 Marks)
- Precis Writing (25 Marks)
- Comprehension (25 Marks)
- Corrections (25 Marks)
- Words & Phrases (25 Marks)

You will be asked a question based on the following:
- Indian Penal Code
- Criminal Procedure Code
- Indian Evidence Act
PAPER V: LANGUAGE HINDI (100 MARKS)
The standard of Hindi paper shall be that of the matriculation examination of the Haryana Board. It shall comprise of:
- Translation of English passage into Hindi. (20 MARKS)
- गद्यांशऔरपद्यांश- कोहिंदीमें व्याख्या (30 MARKS)
- Comprehension (25 Marks)
- Hindi Essay, Idioms and Corrections(50 MARKS)
