PHASE 1 – PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION
The Bihar State Judicial Services' preliminary examination would be a form of objective test. The following is the preliminary exam's course of study:
- General Knowledge (100 Marks)
- Law (150 Marks)
- General Knowledge including Current Affairs
- Law of Transfer of Property
- Principles of Equity
- Specific Relief Act
- Law of Trusts
- Law of Torts
- Law of Contracts
- Law of Evidence and Procedure
- Elementary General Science
- Constitutional and Administrative law of India
- Commercial Law
- Hindu law & Mohammedan Law
PHASE 2 – MAINS EXAMINATION
The mandatory and elective papers for the Bihar State Judicial Services Main Examination will be as follows:
1. COMPULSORY PAPER
Note: Out of 5 (five) topics mentioned below under Compulsory Paper, a candidate can opt 3 (three) topics and he/she is required to appear in only 3 (three) topics.
The topics are as follows –
- General Knowledge including Current Affairs (150 Marks)
- Elementary General Science (100 Marks)
- General Hindi (100 Marks)
- General English (100 Marks)
- Law of Evidence and Procedure (150 Marks)
2. OPTIONAL PAPER
The following subjects are included in the Optional Paper –
- Constitutional and Administrative law of India(150 Marks)
- Hindu law & Mohammedan Law (150 Marks)
- Transfer of Property Act, Principles of Equity, Law of Trusts and Specific Relief (150 Marks)
- Law of Contracts and Torts (150 Marks)
- Commercial Law (150 Marks)
